The Other Lu

Oh, how her life is about to change........

For the past 4 years our cat Lucy has been given all of our attention. Our friends and family who have met Lucy know she demands attention. In a couple of short months that is all going to change. There is going to be another little girl in our lives who demands our attention.

Lucy has been a pretty good sport through this whole adoption process, waiting patiently to meet Grace. Must be nice to not have a care in the world and just lay around the house all day.

There were some rough times for Lucy though, she had to act as a product tester to ensure that all the baby products we bought were safe enough for Grace. She gave the Baby Bjorn her meow of approval.

She even enjoyed her rides in the stroller, in fact she didn't want to get out. Last month we moved her litter box from the finished portion of the basement to the unfinished part. She wasn't happy but she muddled through without any accidents. There will be more changes to come, rooms she is restricted from and less time sitting on laps. But we really think Grace and Lucy will get along just fine.....as long as the baby doesn't pull her tail Lucy most likely won't bite the baby.

Jen put together a little video montage of our favorite Lucy moments. She wanted to practice video editing in preparation for Gracie's video. She used our favorite singer Ray Lamontagne's version of the song "Crazy" in the background. For those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting our Lucy you know how appropriate this song is!

Okay, first of all, you two are like the cutest couple ever - both of you!

And then, your Lucy looks like she could be my Blossom's long lost sister (so named for the Orange Blossom spot on her nose). Alas, Blossom had to be ushered into the big Kitty Cushion in the sky as her age and potty accidents caught up with her. Don't you just LOVE that leopard print belly of those torties?

That is hysterical.....the picture of Lucy in the stroller made me laugh out loud. I'm not sure whether to feel bad for her or not! :)

We had two cats before we had kids. Now we have two kids and no cats.....although I miss them. My theory is, if you can love a cat like that, then you'll be PERFECT parents!

Stupid question here -- is she a Meezer? Siam-eser, that is? If so, I totally get how much attention she might demand. I like the photo of trying out the Baby Bjorn. Also love her little leopard spots.

PS David is allergic to cats and dogs. That's why we had to have kids lol.

She is a bengal, it is a hybrid breed of a domestic shorthair and a wild asian leopard cat.

The cool thing is that people who are allergic to cats have a less severe reaction around bengals since they have a pelt not fur.

That is one pampered kitty. Love the stroller shot, he looks so comfy. I have been using our cat, Brody to try out the hip hammock as well. He seems to tolerate me and is always very heppy to escape when we are finished.

I think our cat Psycho is in love...you should have seen his ears perk up, his tail wag, and don't forget the heavy breathing and the rubbing his nose against the screen...
